Performing and supplying quality music for
dance classes and shows for over 25 years

My name is Paul Grainger and I live in Surrey, United Kingdom. I have been married to my Wife Jakki for 28 years and we have four Sons.

Music has been in the Family for a few generations. My Grandad could play a tune on virtually any instrument although would admit that he never became an expert on any of them! He had bought a piano in the 1930's for his 3-year-old Daughter Joan (my Mother) and many years later on our fortnightly visits to their house I would sit and work out some tunes on the piano, helped by Grandad of course.

My Parents noticed my keen interest and when I was 8 years old the piano was moved to our house in Shepperton, Middlesex. It was then that my Parents arranged for me to have piano lessons, every Saturday morning.

My piano teacher was a lovely lady, Miss Winifred Sissons who gave me a strong Classical Training and put me through all 8 grades over the next few years. I then went on to take the Teacher Training Course LRAM.

I was introduced to the world of Musical Theatre when I was 19 years old after I met my future Wife Jakki who had already opened a Performing Arts School when she was 18 years old. It was not long before I was playing for Tap classes and accompanying dancers for their dancing exams.

Particularly fun was getting a band together for the many shows which were put on over the next years.

It was also the start of my many recordings as Jakki became more creative with medleys and show dances and other Dancing schools around the UK wanted to do the same.

I have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to be Musical Director and conductor for several Charity Shows at the London Palladium, which were a fantastic experience. Some of the recordings which are available on my website are taken from those original Palladium arrangements.

I still enjoy playing live for Shows, Adult Tap classes for my Wife's Dancing School and sometimes just for entertainment for those who like to listen.
